This website is called Emerald Eyes on Japan to illuminate one persons fascination and love for Japanese Culture and history.

Of all the things modern and historical in Japan, Koji Yakusho epitomizes the modern Japanese man with an eye on history and culture from the perspective of the flourishing movie industry. He has illustrated through his acting both Japanese modern and historical culture with supreme talent.

Since the modern movie industry often shoulders the responsibility of transporting cultures to the world, no one has done more on behalf of Japan than Yakusho San.

Accalations to Koji Yakusho for his artistic contributions. It is through his movies that love for Japanese history was ignited and turned into some of the artwork you see here.

It has always amazed me how the artist, whether actor, playwright, painter or director – can touch lives with the unending tentacles that reach through time and space. Talent uplifts beyond entertainment, it has the capacity to change the direction of our own lives – affecting our choices and intentions. In a way the artist’s talent and creativity feeds the world around him without his even realizing the impact he has or how he has transformed another’s life transition with his art.
